Prepared?
What is it to be Prepared? What is the purpose? What makes preparation important? As usual with the Sacred Wild Pathways, I have more questions that answers. Which is a magnificent portal of curiosity!
So what the hell is Preparation and what makes it so damn important?
I used to use preparation as a form of control. Organizing everything, making sure every single thing was ready and in order for the next thing I thought should happen. This, my friends, was control and fear disguised as preparation. Don’t get me wrong, everything that I did during that time of me being a controlling b***h (no, I am not exaggerating. Just ask my daughter who is still recovering from the trauma I caused.) I figured, if I did everything I could to line everything up just the way I want, nothing would ever go wrong. The catch with that is that if anything did go wrong, it was because I did something wrong, wasn’t good enough, or it was just my fault.
Learning to let go was one of the scariest things in the world! And as with many things on the transformation path, I went from one end of the spectrum to the complete other end of the spectrum. I let go of all control and flowed freely as the Universe guided me in each moment. Light, easy, breezy and just as PTSD activating as what I had just been doing! Maybe even more so because now I wasn’t in control of everything! Not that I really was before.
Over the last few years I have been learning to calibrate and balance between the two extremes and cultivate a relationship with a deeper essence of preparation. Here are a few things I have come to understand.
Preparation is NOT control
I was being prepared throughout my entire Life without me even trying.
Just because I prepare for a certain outcome does not guearantee that is what will happen
When a different outcome happens than what I prepared for, it is almost always better than what I thought should happen AND the preparation I did ends up supporting that even better!
Preparation is really simply giving myself wat I need to be fully resourced, grounded and in my full activation in each moment.
There is no right or wrong way to prepare.
Preparation will be different each day, each moment, each experience.
I am continuing to learn everyday. As I get to know how other people prepare, my version of preparation expands. As I grow, the embodiment of preparation shifts. Really, it has been about knowing that I am something worthy of preparing and this Life is worthy of preparing for. The more you believe Life is something worthy of preparing for, Life gets even better. The Law of Reciprocity in action!
With Sacred Wild Love always,
